Bruce Springsteen is some good, strong, sorely needed, goddamn medicine for Minnesota. This is a concert that is, and my words won’t do it justice, amazing. Sharp, specific, resolute, angry, and inspired. Some rock shows are all about just having a good time. Something larger is in play here.

JUST IN: Democrats flip a seat in the New Hampshire state House. Dem Bobbi Boudman has won today’s special election, NHJournal reports. (Boudman was the Dem nominee in 2024 & lost by 14%; Trump won here by 9%.) This is Dems’ third legislative flip so far this year, after Texas and Arkansas.
Trump used his State of the Union to brag on the tax cuts in the OBBB. That didn't work. In the new Fox News poll 59% disapprove of him on taxes. Voters also rejected his SOTU pitch on inflation. Only 22% say inflation is mostly under control and 67% disapprove of him on the cost of living.

On immigration, it's pretty clear that a majorirty of voters now disapprove of what Trump is doing with mass deportation/ICE *and also* still trust Republicans more on immigration.
I think these trust numbers, which are similar to what I've seen in other polling - private and public - are a good reminder that party brands are built over a long period of time and absolutely can change in the face of events, but it's a slow process. R+6 on trade is particularly bonkers.

It's good—very good, and very important—that district courts keep issuing these 100-page rulings upholding the law. It must be incredibly dispiriting to see them overturned in a two-page, lawless, unsigned order, but please, keep them coming. They expose SCOTUS' corruption like nothing else.
