It's telling that men would rather try to invent tech to replace humans' role in caregiving than step up as equal partners in parenting. Telling, that is, in that it shows how financial capitalism and patriarchy work together to dissuade men from doing "unprofitable" labor, like the work of care.

I’ve lost count of the number of times humanists not in AI have warned other humanists not in AI to ignore the worst aspects of LLMs, lest they look stupid but it is massively outpaced by the number of times people working in AI have presented the worst aspects of LLMs as the ones they like best

I worry we're going backwards on the idea that autism means you have an "extreme male brain" because guys like Altman and Musk are so prominent when in reality the reason they act/talk like that is because they openly don't think other humans are real and are also on horse-killing amounts of drugs.
