My hot take of the day is that storygames and OSR are two of the closest play cultures because they're both about emergent storytelling Storygames and OSRs differences (expectations of prep, role of mechanics in play, etc) do not make them as different as emergent storytelling makes them similar

That trans ttrpg chick who plays classy girls. Editor for the Bard Rock Network of Shows. No minors.
flowers are little perverts. swelling forth enticing stamens and petals in tense expectance for a sensual bumblebee to weigh down their stem and carry their sweetness to share. quivering in anticipation for a curvaceous pollinator to make them twitch and flick in the wind. utter decadence
First ttrpg I played that wasn't D&D? Doom and Cookies. Played it with my dad and his uncle. I love so much that you keep a plate of actual cookies at the table. I actually played this long before D&D/Pathfinder, and I'll be damned if it isn't still one I really like, frankly
First TTRPG I played that wasn't D&D? It was either Legend of the Five Rings or Mage the Awakening, can't remember which one was technically first. Also trick question - I've never actually played D&D, lol
From the award-winning developer of "Seduced by the Busty Elf" and "Ravished by the Burly Orc" comes a brand new title, "Made To Question Your Long-Held Assumptions About What Constitutes Sex by Some Kind of Fucking Goblin".
had a very respectful chat about theology tonight
The striking resemblance between the work of Lewis Carroll and the plot of a particularly player-hostile point-and-click adventure game is in small part due to former inspiring the latter, but MOSTLY due to the fact that that's just what happens when you let people who do math for fun write stories.
Yeah, we do have a union, but in practice most of us are excluded because we're technically management. The only person on site who actually pays dues is the guy who puts the enormous iron spheres at the tops of sloping corridors. It doesn't pay much, but I'm told the job satisfaction is phenomenal.
“””Curate your feed””” but be prepared to go to bat for your fellow queers drawing Weird Art. It is NOT going to stop with the ones you find personally distasteful. They’re coming for all of us.
This is perhaps the most seen I've felt with regard to erotic TTRPGs in a while. It is such a frustrating but understandable sentiment, though it becomes all the more frustrating when it's the -dominant- sentiment. This is also true for Hawkmoth, and has been true for my own work to an extent.

The counterpart to "sex is disproportionately not seen as okay to explore" in the TTRPG space is that violence is something that becomes disproportionately okay to explore without any kind of thought. Finding a game or a table that's willing to grapple with the discomfort of violence is hard-
Standard supervillain team aura shot where the leader is up front monologuing and the rest of the team is randomly perched like gargoyles on various bits of scenery grinning at the viewer with way too many teeth, except it's a magical girl team and the one monologuing is the talking animal mascot.
Oh no, you see, I only read Praise the Hawkmoth King for the articles
Here's all four. These sculpts have been the perfect opportunity to push myself out of a grimdark color habit and into something joyously weird. #MiniPainting
there is a kind of insane hyperreality of RTS storytelling that deeply appeals to me wherein minor personal slights or disagreements leads, inevitably, to building a small base, raising an army, and throwing said army at their foes
the Golden Age of RTS is replete with soap opera drama and melodramatic casts (Starcraft's Kerrigan and Mengsk et al, Kane in C&C, Fleet Command and Mothership and the Bentusi in Homeworld, WARCRAFT 3) and the more people try to recapture the golden age of starcraft without that, the worse it fails
Sometimes opsec is not posting what you really think and feel on Bluesky. Something to keep in mind.
🚨BREAKING🚨 Zohran Mamdani will FORCE all New Yorkers to listen to all of Moment of Balance Book 1 including the Patreon Bonus content. What are your thoughts on this?
"the ttrpg system isn't gonna fuck you" it will. It will if i roll good
Is anybody still thinking about Heretic (2024) in this day and age or am I just late to the party on a horror movie perfectly constructed to make me obsess over it and hate everything it stands for
Inclusivity is the foundation of a thriving TTRPG community. Embrace diversity, challenge biases, and actively work to create a space where all feel welcome and empowered. #TTRPGMotivation
"There's a man I hate so much that simply killing him will not satisfy me. For that reason, I refuse to die." sooooo you all know I love a vengeful dancer here, right? 👀 #fireemblem

EV Nova was a 2002 release??? Apparently????? Bonkers. Cool game, though!! Managed to muscle my way through a couple of storylines even as a kid - I remember the Pirate storyline being really fun.
Quote this with your favourite game NOW that was released in 2002, and what your favourite was THEN (if you had one) Localisations count, remasters/ports don't. Remakes depend. Two-way ties count. (That's Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the first was 2001) Refresher list: backloggd.com/games/lib/po...
