Another conference that I came back to Bluesky for and this time it is for my first #scms26. I had a great time yesterday presenting my work on meme-inspired micro-transactions in video games and chairing the panel! Thanks to all who attended, really enjoyed all the presentations and discussion!

It was such an amazing time at #UDC2025 last week! I got to meet and reconnect with amazing people! Also presented part of my dissertation where I offer adopting the term “memesque” to address the commodification practices targeting memes and meme culture. @uniondemcomm.bsky.social

Participated in a lively special consultation for the Committee on the Impacts of Screens and Social Networks on Youth Health and Development with Quebec’s National Assembly this morning and preached the political economy of advertising to kids online 💻👾🇨🇦 @yaseminbeykont.bsky.social

Honoured that @erikasolis.bsky.social @yaseminbeykont.bsky.social and I have been invited to participate in a provincial hearing in Quebec via the Special Committee on the Impacts of Screens and Social Networks on the Health and Development of Young Ppl, where we’ll discuss the harms of advertising🤸🏼‍♀️
