It's wild that the president of the united states holds rallies where he regularly spends at least a few minutes just slandering and insulting an entire group of people and it's just treated like no big deal

This is basically the graft scheme in Capra's "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," where the villain quietly buys up all the land around a proposed dam project to profit from it. Oligarch friendly corruption is now the normalized business model for GOP "governance."
