Lubna is just the sweetest and most loving, gentle person. She is working on their new home through severe back pain with her husband Rami so it can be somewhat safe for their children. Their son Naser still needs life-saving meds/surgery for hyperthyroidism. Please help them.

Zohran Mamdani is backing a bill to hold Amazon accountable for exploiting delivery drivers. Now Amazon is launching a $5M lobbying blitz — led by Chuck Schumer's daughter — to crush it. Instead of spending millions on lobbying, Amazon should pay and treat its drivers fairly.

The inhabitants of the Chagos Islands were expelled by the British 60 years ago. Refugees were anxious to return this year, but their hopes have been caught in a morass of geopolitics.

The rich people are just acting like small kids threatening to move out of parents when they get consequences for their own behaviour. Also: if they do (against the odds) choose to move, would that be a bad thing? Perhaps it's just a solution to rural decay (that the rich caused to start with).

Massachusettes "Millionaires Tax", which was targeted to fund transportation and education, has been a resounding success. It has funded FREE school lunch for ALL students, FREE buses in lowest income communities (people can get to work, etc.), and FREE community college. And "exodus" was minimal.
