The problem is, even if there is a process, it relies on people being transparent and the senate enforcing the rules. And that is clearly not going to happen in this regime.

I think we need to brace ourselves for a new and more extreme outbreak of racism and Islamophobic slurs from Trump and the GOP as they head into a Fall election in which their prospects are deservedly grim. Hate is their stock-in-trade and they'll be slinging it big time.
