I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

Audience-Capture Miserabilism is the great enemy all of us on the liberal posting app must fight every day you can get so much engagement for saying obviously false things that resonate with people who are extremely sad
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
btw if you’re ticked at AIPAC for whatever reason them spending a maximum amount of money to barely lose is ideal, 10/10, just as a pure matter of don’t-know-ball and forward outcome for them as an organization. this cycle has been catastrophic for them purely in terms of inputs and outputs
Also once people see how good at speaking el-Sayed is, it's just not going to be the same story. It will become one of those things where everybody attacking Zohran for being normal comes off as a psychopath. IRL he comes across as a handsome doctor guy and Rogers emanates DUI.
it's like a clip from a lifetime movie about an abuser, like a tv actor who read up on all the characteristics of a domestic abuser and put every single one into the performance at once
Rep. Max Miller: "These are incredibly serious criminal accusations. If these accusations were true, I would be in jail — I would be. My former wife would not have been offering to cook me dinner and inviting me to playgrounds. Think about that."
In the old days, in order to have light at night, one needed wax or fat to light a candle; later, it became oil or gas to turn the turbines generating electricity to power one's light bulb. Today, we fight for renewables; but there is a similar fight for public power to be waged in finance.
✨ New Essay! ✨ Against Councilmember Robert Kettle’s recent call for budget austerity, @greenbackbetter.bsky.social shows how the Seattle Loop enlarges the city's fiscal capacity while reorganizing the relationships among public commitments, institutions, & constituencies. Please read & share! 👩💻 🙌
Got a good job down at the Data Center. I work on the line, and it's hard work but it's honest and the wage is fair; my family and I are grateful for it. I rivet the word "absolutely" onto the little apologies that chatbots do when they misunderstand a prompt.
Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."
As I've said before: What high-paying long-term jobs do they pretend exist here? A data center isn't a place where execs come and do Big Deals. Go to the server room at your workplace; are there lots of rich people in there spending money?

Great! New York State could do this. In fact NYC Local Law 97 leads to this for large buildings in NYC: ✅ lower energy bills ✅ good jobs ✅ less pollution
EU Cut Gas Demand by 20% from 2021-2024! EU can cut its gas demand by another 25% by 2030! How? Renewables, heat pumps and other gas demand reduction policies. ieefa.org/resources/hi... #energysky
Losing my mind over this story. Meta plans to build new gas power plants for a data center that will consume 7x more power than New Orleans! 🧵
I feel like I’m a NY Focus’ hype man… And this is another great story that tells what’s happening in the real world, and its effect. 👀
ICE and Border Patrol agents are stalking the workers of the Sungrow tomato plant in Ontario, New York. “They were like alligators. They swooped in and devoured them,” one worker said. Workers still there say they’re living in “Jason Bourne-type mode.”
one weird trick for turning 90% of the core voting base for reactionary politics into radical leftists
Very cool that Shopify’s CEO thinks the poor should have far less of a vote than the rich. Still worth that ad read money, folks?
The last time I posted about @hellgatenyc.com was to make a criticism, but to be fair: Of the 5 NYC journalism orgs to which I donate, only HG advances a politics I consistently find clear + aligned enough to surprise me when I occasionally think they get it wrong. Wishing HG many new subscribers🙏
Only a few hours until Hell Gate's 99-Cent T-shirt Sale comes to an end! A Hell Gate Supporter subscription *and* a "Welcome to Fear City" T-shirt (an incredible tee!) for only 99 cents? And you're going to pass this up? Head here before it's too late: hellgatenyc.com/99-cent-t-sh...
The reason Zohran scares the shit out of them so much is that they think this sort of technocrat FDR liberalism/market socialism will *work* and be popular, not that it will fail and be unpopular. They're afraid that he will be a good mayor not a bad mayor.
zohran is a completely normal (mixed-market socialist/new-deal liberal/whatever) and it’s completely frying the brains of people with too much money or whose livelihoods are built on catering to the opinions of people with too much money
We did it, y’all! We showed up, put in the work, and won—together. Join us next Thursday as we celebrate this victory, our incredible volunteers, and everything still to come.
A note on Alan Rocoff (the real Alan Rocoff, not Henry Butler 🤣): Rocoff was banned from practicing law in NY because he stole $200k+ from a sale of a church when he was the court-appointed referee. And the BK Dems still have him running their meetings. SHAME

Anthony Beckford just called the name of the CC member I mentioned earlier who had to leave. Her neighbor explained that she had to leave. Anthony responded with, "Proxy to Rodneyse." ‼️ We shouted that she didn't assign a proxy! He seemed surprised to be called out on it. He really tried that! 🤬
Sometimes good things take time! So proud for everyone involved in Brooklyn Can't Wait! A better Democratic Party begins in Brooklyn, and the rest of America can't wait to get in on it.

I’m excited to support @juliopenabk.com to be Brooklyn’s next Democratic Party Chair! It’s time to usher in a new era of county leadership – accountable, committed to reform, and ready to bring the “Fight Don’t Fold!” energy Brooklyn’s Democratic voters are demanding.
It’s a new day for the Brooklyn Democratic Party. Ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work ✊🏽 www.thecityreporter.nyc/2026/07/17/b...
if there's a big headline Dem campaign to give to right now, it's Turek: Iowa is continuing to poll as a swing state, he's not putting up humongous fundraising numbers yet unlike most swing state candidates, and it's also one of the cheapest states to advertise in, so your money goes further
Ben is right, Josh Turek is our best shot in years of flipping one of our senate seats—and a key part to any Democratic majority. Thank you to those of you who have chipped in to our effort. Please join! secure.actblue.com/donate/bs_we...
