It's about whether the Society follows its own rules. How the Society works The Alberta Prosperity Society is a not-for-profit incorporated under Alberta's Societies Act, and it governs the Alberta Prosperity Project. Its bylaws were signed by the founding directors, Jeff Rath among them, and filed with Corporate Registry in January 2022. Under the Act, the bylaws govern the appointment and removal of directors and officers, and they can only be changed by a 75% special resolution. Statement from Christopher Scott Director, Alberta Prosperity Society How the Society works continued Under those bylaws, no board meeting can do business with fewer than five directors present (5.1). Directors stay in office until their successors are elected (5.3). A seat is only vacated by bankruptcy, incapacity, death, written resignation, or breach of the Code of Conduct or the Ethics and Compliance Section (5.4). Nothing in that list covers a paperwork lapse or a lawyer's opinion. And a director can be removed by a vote at a board meeting called for that purpose, with quorum and 48 hours' notice to every director (5.5 and 5.7). We ran the Society for years This board held meetings, passed motions and approved minutes. We raised the money, built the member lists and handled the bank account.

Albertans should be furious about this. Danielle Smith: 1) Lowered the threshold for signatures on a petition 2) Extended the duration in which they could be collected 3) Continues to pretend the people who signed the Forever Canada petition wanted a referendum Shameless.
