SCOOP: 404 Media placed a tracking device in a shipment of rare books to see which AI company was buying it. What did we find? It ended up at an Amazon facility where Amazon scans and destroys books. Yes. This is literally the logo outside the Amazon warehouse door. Read now:

if you're not a UK citizen, download and/or spread this report from amensty international! this is the one that JK rowling abused the UK legal system to hide, as well as the reason amnesty international was forced to issue their undue apology to her as an american it's my duty to do what they can't

It would be a shame if somebody were to have already downloaded it on multiple devices and also share a link for others to download it :) drive.proton.me/urls/18WJXSR...

I’ve seen literally one example in the last couple years of an AI actually trained on local data, it was an art installation where a huge team took several petabytes of photos. unless you’re ready to do that, you’re not gonna have a “locally trained” model

A certain AAA studio told employees that their internal gen AI was trained only on local data, but whenever said employees tried to generate an image of a woman holding a gun, it generated Lara Croft. The studio was not Crystal Dynamics, and had never worked on the Tomb Raider IP in any capacity.

I just want to mention: Even if your AI somehow runs locally and you think it's okay, it's still using trained data from a pre-existing dataset which is still full of stolen work. The sheer amount of data gen AI needs is in the hundreds of thousands, you can only get that by scraping

how have I never had a friend group with consistent gaming systems trying to figure out how to play Big Walk with a group whose pile of devices include a Switch 1, a Chromebook, and an Xbox

OK wait: The "pipeline rerouted because of grave of fictional character" story was never true? It's a silly season spin-up reposted by the BBC, Guardian etc.? The pipeline never went near the "grave" and was never rerouted? Rusty Foster with the links: www.todayintabs.com/p/dobby-s-gr...

NEW: CWA union members have inflated a giant rat and deployed a wall of red flags representing laid off Xbox workers outside the Bethesda office in Rockville. The protest was timed to coincide with a visit from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who is apparently at the studio today.
