There are simple everyday things we can all do to protect ourselves and those around us from COVID risks. Simple change can bring big differences: Open windows in office spaces & schools. Wear a respirator in shared air spaces, especially in places like the Tube/Buses.

I bet if asked my parents would say I’m no contact. The truth is after decades of racism and sexism I pulled back on the relationship in 2024. They still see us, but they aren’t allowed alone with my kid and they can’t talk around my kid the way they talked around me and my sisters growing up

The other category of coverage is *extremely* implausible first-person accounts from estranged parents. According to this woman, her son cut her off after she was mildly rude to his fiance's family a single time. There's no way this is the entire story. www.goodhousekeeping.com/relationship...

I just wonder if people have lost finding meaning or value in what they do. And I don't mean from the larger sense of living in a capitalist hellscape where we're all hardly surviving. I mean from, like, wanting to have a purpose and utilize your skills and brain and creativity in the day.

Let me adjust the onion on my belt as I say, when I was in Library school I was told to be careful making photocopies because of copyright law and now so many librarians I know are enthusiastically using ChatGPT to do simple things like write emails. I hate it here. I hate it here. I hate it here.

Divest from Harry Potter and JKR, y'all. It's okay to feel sad about no longer engaging with something that meant a lot to you, but a fictional world that funds a very real assault on trans rights will never be more meaningful than caring about the safety of trans folks.

Welcome to #TransTuesday! There is NO ethical consumption of Harry Potter Not the books, movies, or tv show. Not licensed games or merch. Not fanfic. Not even pirated. EVERY bit keeps the franchise alive and enables JKR's transphobia If you truly care about trans people, you need to let it die

TERFs, PART 3: NO ETHICAL CONSUMPTION OF HARRY POTTER - Tilly's Trans Tuesdays

Welcome to Trans Tuesday! This is what it all comes down to, for trans people and the cis folks who actually care about us. Listen up, and show it to every cis person you know who does not get it. Her...

they always show their asses eventually because the thing is that you cannot truly, sincerely care about women if you don’t care about trans women. the minute you carve off any one subcategory of women you claim are “lesser” in some way, you’ve declared women’s rights to be conditional by definition

It’s notable how many anti-trans activists who claim their actions are motivated by a desire to “protect women,” are currently attacking Jane Doe and defending the men who she says assaulted her. It’s almost like “protecting women” never had anything to do with it.

every single thing about all our lives would improve about a thousand percent if RFK was replaced overnight by one Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy, complete with his futuristic medical technology can you IMAGINE him reviewing the reports of what his predecessor did

I'm watching a ridiculous tv show which has led me to pondering this question: If you could bring any fictional or historical character/individual into your every day life, who would it be? What would you do?

Why don't they ever call wearing hard hats OCD? Seatbelts? Parachutes? Safety goggles? Or is it just a war against masks because they remind everyone of the pandemic reality we've never climbed out of

Imagine if Sarah J. M@as told her legion of followers what book bans were, the frequency with which her books are being yanked from libraries, and how they could put an end to this. Kinda like imagining Stephen King doing it. Alas, the privilege to not have to do or say anything and be FINE.

My friend turned wellness influencer lives rent free in my head and I should ignore her but I hate this cult-ish belief that we can protein shake, peptide and positive mindset our way out of chronic illness, ongoing pandemic, climate crisis, racism, violence and other horrors.
