So for anyone still on Facebook Messenger... Meta has apparently rolled out a new "feature" that basically opts ALL OF YOUR CHATS into training their fucking AI systems. You have to disable this manually in EVERY CHAT. Hit the i at the top right, scroll down, message permissions, turn off.

The cluelessness of this reminds me a lot of the NFT grift. The thing about NFTs was that it was mainly something finance bros were into, and when they were trying to worm their way into gaming, their pitches were an abyssal trench of bad ideas because they couldn't grasp why people played games.
