it’s been interesting to watch the myth of 2024…warp…in certain places. Fnak 2024 election survey data shows double digit declines for Harris in Latin and Asian votes, but a whole swathe of people got convinced that Palestinians and Bernie Bros scuttled the effort. Not true!

people forget that AOC and Bernie were some of Biden’s strongest warriors while he was running in 2024, and among the quickest to endorse Harris. This is because the Biden admin was the most pro-labor in decades. They were gonna go to war for Lina Khan! We were on this website together y’all!

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

Republican power grabs in Kansas and Missouri are going down in flames with 18-25% of votes reported so far. Missouri's Amendment 4 aimed to make citizen-initiated constitutional amendments practically impossible. Kansas' Amendment 1 was designed to flip the state Supreme Court to ban abortion

NEW: Voters have rejected Republicans' scheme to unseat the Kansas Supreme Court's Dem-appointed majority and overturn abortion rights. Amendment 1 would have let the GOP replace the system of a nominating commission, gubernatorial appointment, and retention elections with direct partisan elections

Two more GOP amendments go down to crushing defeats, both in MO. #4 would have made future ballot initiatives impossible to pass by requiring winning a majority statewide *and* in each congressional district. #5 would have eliminated the state income tax.

An Israeli court has temporarily blocked a plan, cooked up by far right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, to construct a moat full of crocodiles around a notoriously abusive prison that holds Palestinians, over concerns that the crocodiles would be harmed or mistreated.

And AIPAC's specific move—of stating that criticism of their political spending is actually an attack on all American Jews—is extremely dangerous, because it explicitly aims to make American Jews as a whole responsible for whatever AIPAC does.

Also, if you are a cis person and you actually think this is about trans people, I'd be happy to inform you that it's not. Conservatives want to police gender for everyone. It's the skeleton key to their entire political project. It won't just affect trans people. It'll affect you, too.

If you're a cis person insisting that the prospect of trans children playing youth sports is not only "a problem" but in fact one of the biggest problems we currently face as a nation, I'd be happy to introduce you to literally a million other things that should be worrying you more.

One of my favorite statistics about the US commercial real estate market is that 8.5% of all commercial office space in the United States is on the island of Manhattan, which, at 23 square miles, constitutes 0.0006% of the land area in the United States.

Official data was released today, and after adjusting for inflation, American office construction has fallen to the lowest level since 2011 It's down nearly 60% since the onset of the pandemic and 15% over the last year alone

Also, claims of hypocrisy are useless. To a Schmittian, punishing "enemies" for the same thing "friends" benefit from is not a contradiction, it's praxis. Equality before the law is not a value: the law begins with friend/enemy and enemies should not be treated as equals
