Birmingham City Council failed to set its budget today. Labour chose not to put it to the vote rather than risk defeat. By my counting, they had 46 councillors present, to 45 of the opposition. Maybe they couldn't count on all of them supporting their own party. The vote has to be within 2 weeks.

NOTHING will prepare you for this 45-second story arc. From "I'm just doing this because I love the flag, it's totally grassroots, and I'm not part of anything political"... to who actually gave him the flags the night before. Anyone who believes it is an innocent movement needs to see this.
Why are the roads in Birmingham so bad? Because the council is in stasis until the government decides whether to allow us to continue with PFI or not. I spoke at the council this week to get them to urge Angela Rayner to get on with it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxYo...

Calling Zelensky a “Dictator” must be where the line is drawn. It is my sincere hope that the whole political spectrum in the United Kingdom will speak with one voice in opposition to Trump’s lies.
Liberal Democrats believe that we have a moral obligation to stand up to Trump and challenge his view of the world. That will almost certainly necessitate a realignment, where we look closer to home, to our European partners for our future security alliances.
