One of my favourite labradorite just sold, excellent, I can stop coveting it now. But there's still plenty more to go around. (Actually if anyone wants to jump in *now*, I'll add in a post office run today while I drop off the Xmas bear. Go on, treat yourself!)

🚫 Don’t: “Everyone is a little autistic.” ✅ Do: “Autistic traits are not exclusive to Autistic people and it’s the cumulative constellation of traits that they have that fundamentally differs from the lived experiences of Non-Autistic people.” (A bit wordy, but maybe the nuance is worth it.)

A clue why there are rising numbers of children with SEND? The Kings Fund: “There's been a 250% increase in...life-threatening & life-limiting conditions in children...children are often an afterthought in meetings..and strategies–or worse ignored & invisible” www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-...

If Prevention Is Better Than Cure, We Need to Prioritise Children's Health | The King's Fund

Shockingly, children’s health is on a downward spiral at the moment. How can this decline be halted? Jessica Holden considers some of the actions needed.

I’m looking for people who performed on Broadway in the 70s, particularly ppl worked with Ben Vereen or performed in any of the Black-themed shows so prevalent at that time. If this is you or others you know, I appreciate any interest you may have in chatting with me. Thank you!

A story about mixed-neurotype communication issues in a marriage. The other day, it was my late dad’s birthday. Every year, I order Pizza Express. I’m autistic & my husband is adhd so he does errands & I text him instructions so he’s less likely to forget things. A flawless system, no? 1/

Excellent thread on accessibility in schools (which has points which are relevant to many other environments too). Do bear in mind when you're thinking about the sensory environment that you need to consider more than just the five external senses.

Fergus Murray@oolong.co.uk · 2y ago

School environments are inaccessible for many autistic and neurodivergent learners (and staff) on many levels, relating to every sense. Noise. Sight. Smell. Touch. Interoception. Proprioception. Taste. Yes, even vestibular... #learningSpacesScotland #eduSky #accessibility

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.

Pablo Ordóñez Bravo@pob.bsky.social · 2y ago

Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

Sarah McBride is quite right in saying she's there to fight for other things than bathrooms, she shouldn't have to take this on. All those other democrats who like to say they're an ally but do very little... NOW IS YOUR TIME TO STAND UP. Do it for her (and trans staffers), she shouldn't have to.

Hello––I'm interested in poetry & songs written to protest against harm to rivers or to protect them from harm. Not just paeans to rivers, of which there are many. But words to protest or protect. Can you recommend anything? I’d really like to grow a list. Any century, language, culture, custom.

The #PedsICU nurses made a one-pager of my ‘Toolkit for Hard Days’ post to share with the group at their debrief last night. I can’t overstate how much I love these people who work so hard to take excellent care of children, families, and our team. ❤️ #MedSky drive.google.com/file/d/1nZrg...

Imma need some of you to think about thriving out of spite. I had big plans for 2025 and I’m definitely not gonna pre-derail them for likes of Elin and Tromp. I’m getting more involved. Loving harder. Writing hornier. Having more fun. I’m gonna be so kind to my neighbors, bitch.
