Publishers Weekly called today, asking questions about the Must Read Magazines contract situation. Did a 38-minute interview w/ them. This story isn’t going away. ICYMI: I’ll fight just as hard for the rights of the kid entering the industry as I will for my own. Don’t f**k w/ artists’ rights.

apropos of previous thread by John Wiswell: writers have a lot of solidarity when it comes to contracts. if you are a new writer and you think something might be hinky about your contract, it is completely fine to ask other professional writers even (especially) if you don't know us.

Kobo have blocked publication of one of our books We don't want to say too much about the specifics as we try to get to the bottom of the situation and get it resolved, but we're VERY angry - and would no longer recommend any reader uses the platform vs AMZ, etc (1/3)

I'm not going to get into it on Threads because I'm not a masochist, but sending your editorial notes to an author for a trad pub book that's already published is insane behaviour. The author vetted it, their editor did, a copyeditor, a proofreader...the book is written the way it is for a reason.
