So a bunch of whiny, wealthy, mostly white people complain about a statue being more accessible, and the Mayor and City Administrator - who is supposed to work for both the Mayor and Council - overturn a staff decision informed by community engagement? What the fuck. I wish I were surprised.
Today, we filed a FOIA request with DHS concerning an AI-generated image the @DHSgov X account posted this morning. The image depicts a Transformer facing a South Asian man, over a caption telling "Mr. Singh" to self-deport and get off American roads. We want the prompt.
I was influenced by the @theunread.bsky.social's newsletter to get this book about bog people from the library and now I'm having the time of my life with Dr. Glob's bog divas

I don't think making slop is a door-opener for anyone except people who own the slop-maker or who monetize the slop
I also think the original post that prompted the quoted skeet is a false equivalence. Humans writers upset that other humans could write outside of their club and rules is not the same as human writers being upset that other humans present a computer approximation as human writing.

Councilors Zimmerman, Clark, and Novick voted with the three other Portland Metro Chamber endorsed "moderates" to block an amendment to the Zenith franchise transfer ordinance that would have allowed Portland residents to enforce the terms of the agreement if the Mayor (once again) refused to do so.
