there's a dog here sniffing people's luggage at baggage claim but it's not like a police K9, it's just somebody's lapdog. absolute hustler. just doing it for the love of the game

I love how he talks about stuff he clearly just learned about five minutes ago. Like a toddler explaining how a toaster works. "The bread goes in. And then... heat happens. Tremendous heat. Nobody knew about heat before me."

Mayor Mamdani was the only senior elected official who stayed at the 9/11 memorial ceremony at the WTC until the end. It started at 8:40 AM, and concluded close to 12:30 PM. Most of the other current electeds left at various times. Former Mayors Bloomberg & Giuliani stayed.

Mamdani stayed until the end of the memorial ceremony at which point he was seen talking with 9/11 victims' family members. All of the other senior elected officials left the 9/11 Memorial before the reading of the names concluded.

The source tells me that V.P. Vance was the first to leave the VIP area, and other elected officials began "schmoozing." At some point, Mayor Giuliani's people started "bringing people over to talk with him." CORRECTION:I used photos in a previous similar post that were from 2025

When you're constantly just trying to keep the lights on and put food on the table, you don't have the time or energy to fight the system. Keeping people hanging on by a thread isn't a policy failure; it's how they keep us too tired to push back.

WAITTTT I feel so silly,,, the fact that Lorelai hated the coffee that Max made on their very first meeting was totally a sign that it wasn't going to work out. DUHHH

It still persists to this day. Watch how any time some white guy is caught doing mass murder, the media say "ah, this isn't terrorism, just some disaffected white guy." The word "terrorist" is being taken to mean "someone Muslim and brown."

Two things it’s hard to convey if you weren’t alive back then: the extremity of hysteria, nationalism and Islamophobia the attack prompted, and how efforts to capture this can inadvertently obscure how Islamophobic things already were.
