I live in Emeryville; love transit, reading, writing, music, #linux, chess, and cooking. Dreaming of a world with 1 min headways. Currently working to help people make robots at Foxglove and studying Chinese (学中文)。 https://levlaz.org

Fashion of the Day - Regional Trans, you can earn this title by going to trans community events in three or more different counties 🏳️‍⚧️🚃

I, personally, would not go on the record with a reporter to announce I’m in favor of destroying the playground my kid is currently loving because I drive to work once a week (and the road still wouldn’t go there anyway), but everyone lives their lives differently I guess

Ryuka, 5, said he’d prefer to keep the park — and the playground — over a road during weekdays.
“Playground,” he said softly, avoiding meeting this reporter’s gaze. “I like the ship.”
Asked what would improve the park, which sits feet from Ocean Beach, he was decisive.
“More sand,” he said, burying his hands in the stuff.
Ads separate from the “no” campaign but featured on its Instagram page (opens in new tab) argue that car crashes in District 4 have declined since the Great Highway closed and that Sunset Dunes is the city’s third-most-popular park.
Ryuka’s mom, Denise Leo, 50, supports Prop. G because it would restore the road for weekend commutes. She drives Friday mornings for work as a library aide in San Mateo and wants the option of taking the Great Highway, rather than 19th Avenue. The pathway above the highway always worked when she wanted to go for a run, anyway. Or, wait, does she oppose G?
Told that a “no” vote keeps the road closed to cars, she paused. In 2024, she pointed out, it was the “no” vote that kept the highway open.
“I’m gonna vote to open it,” she said, looking at her son. “Even though he likes it.”

BART just set a new ridership record! We carried 254,248 trips yesterday. That’s our highest ridership day since the pandemic, a record we have been breaking again and again this year as more people want to take transit. Thread ⬇️

Two-thirds of Americans support Medicare for All. Americans are done with a healthcare system that puts profits before people. Medicare for All can save 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year—turns out, progressive policies can be good politics AND good policy.

Ballots are arriving any day now in California! However, there's still time to update your registration to get a mail ballot, last day to do that is 10/19. After that, to vote you'll need to vote in person.

Seattle is a growing city, and we can’t just keep adding more cars to the road. That’s why I was so excited to welcome the newest addition to the system this week, the Pinehurst station in North Seattle.

Transit agency websites should have a “How to pay your fare” page that’s linked prominently from the home page. When I get to a new city, I don’t need instructions on how to ride the bus or train; that’s the same everywhere. I need instructions on paying, which is different everywhere.

Pure joy. Every day of the week at Sunset Dunes. (This is a Tuesday at 5pm) Don’t rip out this playground to bring cars back to a road that lost its greatest utility from coastal erosion. Save Sunset Dunes. No on Prop G.

Saw this beautiful sign on my walk across the Williamsburg Bridge. They need to raise congestion pricing by $1 per day until there is no more honking in manhattan.

A sign about how the congestion relief zone toll in manhattan is $9

If all the bike lanes are empty then why are Doug Ford and his ilk so pissed off that bikes regularly pass them while they are sitting in bumper to bumper traffic?

If you’re driving past a bike lane in a city that “nobody uses” the reason you are not crawling in bumper to bumper to bumper traffic is because people use the bikelanes.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order. Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!

“ without a shadow of doubt” Yet Republican still embrace and fawn over the president who committed crimes against the United States. That is definitely their brand. Checkmark treason, and bestiality as OK for public office.

This is why I'm running to be your representative on @rideact.bsky.social's Board of Directors, Ward 3. I believe that the bus should be a viable commuting option in the East Bay, and not an option-of-last-resort that leaves people stranded.

Wtf is going on with AC transit the last few days. One of the business commuter lines in the system. Just casually cancelled during peak hours.
