For comparison: as of 2025 Brazil counts the impressive amount of 135 climate court cases, and various mid-income countries (Mexico, Indonesia, Colombia) more than 15 cases each. Italy and Japan [G7 countries]: 7 and 5 cases, respectively.

I should add that despite the affordability crisis & housing scarcity overwhelming climate mitigation priorities, most ppl are *not* against shaping housing interventions around future in terms of energy resilience/climate adaptation. Far rights feed from nostalgia but most ppl think abt the future

This reminds me how puzzled I was this summer when in a convo in Joburg with a couple of highly educated (midwest/east coast) Americans I realized they genuinely did not think that the historical racial relations in the US are comparable to the ones between whites and blacks in South Africa.

Took 10 years but it won a total & complete victory through murder and atrocity.

I even wrote one of my first academic papers on protests during the great recession. On the note, a thing I dont think enough appreciate is that protests are rarely monothematic. Most often they are super mixers.
