It's not a theoretical discussion, there is a legal, constitutional definition, which is reflected in policy, which means Palestinians are not and can never be equal citizens. Why isn't anyone pointing this out?

If you ever doubt we’re in the banter timeline, remember that “a strong Binface vote” really appeared in a newspaper
The Narrative™️, though. It cannot fail. It can only be failed.
New study shows that — contra widely accepted narratives — there is NO EVIDENCE that professors change their students’ politics and make them more liberal through their teaching
Yeah I want to say, because I have been defensive of other work they have done recently and like the people involved, that I think the GLP's intervention here was foolish.
The Good Law Project intervention really was a mistake though. One case of fraud and it'd be funny but ultimately not much to say. I think the fact that such an organisation naively rallied round him actually does lend weight to, because it is genuine evidence for, the right wing interpretation.

Surprise surprise! Reform and other far-right disinformation is being amplified by Russian intelligence. Russia-linked social media accounts frequently spread destabilising narratives in Europe, often promoting far-right talking points about immigration. www.theguardian.com/media/2026/a...

For perspective: This hyper polluting Amazon project, if built, will produce almost as much climate-heating air pollution as all of New York City. Horrid.
This week I found permits and satellite photos suggesting Amazon is backing what could be the largest gas power plant ever built in the US. I just got off the phone with the company and confirmed they're behind it. Full story here: newsletter.cleanview.co/p/scoop-amaz...
. @lewisgoodall.com said school closures weren't "a price worth paying." But what if we have been asking the wrong question? The Covid Inquiry heard evidence there was a third option. Our latest:
Why are the media still asking the wrong question about schools during the pandemic?

Glad to see this from my former archdeacon, the Bishop of Thetford.
Counterpoint: the UK was always free to introduce EU immigration management under the terms of the treaties (as interpreted in the CJEU case law) like other countries, but for whatever reason never did. So why did other EU states have to grant more powers?
"I don't think it was fully realised how clear and present the danger was of the UK leaving the EU." Nick Thomas_symonds, (former EU relations minister) and Lewis Goodall on whether the EU was "crazy" not to give the UK more when Brexit happened
Gawd, I love this thread. Read it. Do it. Revel in the realness.
Soooo much drivel talked about universities. Soooo much self-serving nonsense. Like they're all Humanities colleges where politics matters loads! Yeah, not so much in the dental school you've never heard of or thought about guys. (1/?)
This is a thread about UK higher education, but it all travels perfectly to US higher education, too.

I’m more worried about UK academia than ever. On the one hand, the Arday affair is indicative of certain fields with egregious problems and little potential for self-reform. On the other, conservative plans for reform tend to be destructive and shallow. Our future may be grim.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan sign a defense pact? Saying an attack on one "shall be regarded as an attack against them all"?!? WHILE SAUDI ARABIA IS UNDER ATTACK?!?!? So are Turkey and Pakistan about to bomb Yemen or Iraq? Would they go to war with Iran? Or is it more general and nonspecific?

Pakistan says an attack on any of the three will amount to an attack against all, amid conflict in the Middle East.

The continued political silence over the spread of these anti-migrant, anti-refugee pogroms in the UK is a disgrace. This one has been going on for three nights in a row now and the Home Secretary and Prime Minister haven't said a single word about it www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...

Have you ever been inside the House of Lords Chamber?
New from me: Britain’s graduate earnings premium is falling, cue “too many go to university!” But non-university outcomes are also bad, cue “we must reform vocational routes!” Both miss the point: people used to think education drove economic outcomes, but the economy drives educational outcomes.
i'd recommend people read the response from an LGBTQ+ cancer charity to last year's EHRC proposed guidance - been thinking a lot about this particular section ever since i first read it (full response here outpatients.org.uk/2025/06/26/e...)
Yvette Cooper confirming that NHS guidance is coming forth shortly banning trans people from single sex wards. She waffles about ‘alternative provision’ but let’s be realistic here, this will massively massively disadvantage trans people’s care. Fuck Andy Burnham
Could we also stop using “protesters”? They’re not protesting. They’re not arguing. They’re attacking. They’re segregating. They’re attempting murder. Pitchfork & torches outside hotels housing asylum seekers were a warning shot. There would never be a second. This isn’t politics. This is terrorism
And again with the nonsensical term “anti-immigration protester” in the media. Are they attacking any immigrants? Are white french ppl targeted too? Or are they specifically targeting people who look like they’re from the global South? Everything to avoid saying racist or xenophobe.
A colleague told me they’d seen a litigant insist that a judge’s helpful guidance on the law was wrong because it’s not what ChatGP said. I live in fear of the LLMs absorbing all the SovCit misinformation slipping about on the internet.

Was hunting for the source of Rupert Lowe's persistent claim that "white Britons" will be a minority by 2063 (where white Britons are only counted as white British-born people with two white parents who were themselves born in the UK) I don't know what I expected, but of course it's Matt Goodwin
This violence is not exceptional or limited to the actions of extreme individuals It's the direct result of years of mainstreaming led by mainstream media and politicians who have legitimised racism and other forms of exclusion Arrests will not stop this spiral www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
