"Ghost with a Sword" (also widely known as "The Snow Woman" or "Spirit of a Female Samurai"). It is a famous color woodblock print created circa 1922–1923 by the pioneering Japanese artist Uemura Shōen (1875–1949).

Newcastle's keep has several ghosts, but perhaps the most unusual is that of a Spanish cavalier who walks across the Great Hall and is only visible from the waist down. Other spooks include a mischievous flower girl who haunts the stairs and Roman soldiers. #SpookySunday #folklore #gothic #wierd

The Occult Files of Dr. Spektor was a comic book from the early 1970s. Each issue featured Dr. Spektor investigating a different occult occurrence which was sometimes a ghostly event but it usually involved something like a mummy, werewolf or another corporeal creature he could punch. #SpookySunday

Like most monastic communities on the east coast, the one at Lindisfarne was raided by #Vikings. Dating from the 8th C is the ghost of a monk fleeing from the (medieval) ruins. He is thought to be escaping with relics and other treasures as he runs across a causeway to safety at Beal. #SpookySunday
