I don’t want to sound glib, but if a woman actually wanted to “make up a crime to ruin a man’s reputation,” they’d pick one that people actually give a shit about, like hurting a dog or something.
I'm in so much pain. It's very hard to not think dark thoughts when I realize this is my life going forward. It won't get better. Any effort I put in will just go to slowing the progression of the suffering. I want to make the world to be a better place but I can't even make my body a better place.
I can't really reconcile the way people talk about "rehabilitative justice" then in the same breath lament that retributive justice is insufficient and should be significantly greater.
Wow with this, the DOGE check, the tariff check, the housing check, the gas rebate, and everything else he's promised, I will still be broke as fuck and people will still keep reporting this shit like it's news.

Odds that Spot ify is going to leave those places open are approximately zero. Good luck, kids, I hope you find a better place for your stick house, where the adults make sure there’s no poison ivy nearby & leave a wonky old footstool where you can find it, instead of tearing it all down.
Yes, this is about that NPR comments chat story. Like….maybe let the kids have had that place they built for themselves out of scraps? If I had been in charge, I would have quietly put more functionality in place for them and said Not One Word.
Maybe there should be more places people can hang out with their afinity group folks. Maybe kids should get to communicate with other kids. Sure, it’s a good story. Also? It’s one of the oldest: they made a digital stick house out of what they could find. Now it’s gone. Because it’s a good story.
If you see young people, creatively, desperately finding ways to make their own third spade, maybe you keep an eye on it to make sure they are okay, maybe you don’t tear the branches down and yell “the kids stick fort is Right Here and they are talking about things that matter to them!!!”
