I use my paralegal skills and training every day, including working in pharmacy! Extremely pleased to have bridged some administrative gaps and helped a FNs child get medication they needed and wouldn’t have otherwise had access to due to colonial bureaucratic bullshit.

And they're still crying about their shitty booze. Maybe it's time to take more off the shelves?
Oh, great, so one of the few nearby sources of clean products, governed by a political framework that usually doesn’t seek actively to harm its people for the sake of profit, is now all but closed to us, too. So very hard to recall that a mere decade ago we seemed to be headed in a better direction.
I realize the WTO is reticent to consider the nuclear option (granting a waiver to the aggrieved party to ignore U.S.-owned patents) when a nation is a large economy with other recourse, but if this keeps up, who knows what penalties they'd entertain?

The death penalty is disgusting and barbaric. For Idaho to double down on it and make firing squads their main method is truly horrific.

New MP Rhonda Kirkland, who I find to be very sweet and honest, rose today in the house after crying last night in the C-22 committee meeting and then watched the rush vote today on Lawful Access, questioning the Liberals commitment to democracy. I think we all are questioning it. #cdnpoli
An absolutely shameful statement by Steven MacKinnon. Every organization with a long track record of expert commentary on the rule of law in Canada condemned the bill. "Liberals dismiss ‘tinfoil hat’ privacy fears as lawful access bill passes" globalnews.ca/news/1191195...

I sincerely hope that Canadian Senators are paying attention to just how problematic and contentious Bill C-22 is and will speak to us over the summer about it. Cc: @senatordowne.bsky.social @senatormohamed.bsky.social @amy61.bsky.social @senmarilou.bsky.social @senrosagalvez.bsky.social
Thank you @elizabethemay.bsky.social for informing the press & Canadians about the undemocratic abuse of process the Liberals have undertaken to pass C-22 “Lawful Access” against all advice of experts such as @openmedia.org, @iclmg-csilc.bsky.social, @citizenlab.ca, @signal.org & legal scholars.
We need @elizabethemay.bsky.social to tell Canadians what happened last night. To inform the public our democracy is gone and to call out the lies and gaslighting. We will support you, but you have to do it now. No one believes in anything, anymore.
Sorry, but didn’t you and your NDP colleagues vote against a motion to separate the bill, then stay on the sidelines when the vote came up to let the government rush this through committee without debate? www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/v... bsky.app/profile/jenn...
I am going to wait until @avilewis.ca explains the discrepancy between his understanding of what his caucus did on C-22 and what actually happened. He isn’t in the house or committee. He may not know, however unlikely that is. If no explanation follows, assumption is natural to conclude he knows.
Did anyone bother to ask a follow up? Like, um, what specifically he thinks was ‘worth it’? Ask for specifics. Journalism has many reasons for its decline, but not being able to ask follow ups to brazen/stupid statements like this is right up there.
What a craven embarrassment. Unforgivable.
