Very thrilled to have my story “How to Come Back to Yourself” in @podcastle.org today! It’s a love story in several respects about a prophet and a shapeshifter + has a lot of my feelings about self-doubt in it💓huge thanks to Pine Gonzalez for the wonderful narration! podcastle.org/2026/10/27/p...

PodCastle 967: How to Come Back to Yourself - PodCastle

How to Come Back to Yourself by Audrey Zhou   Lilin is the kind of small divinity that doesn’t invite notice. She isn’t one of the gods that has to hide deep away from civilization, to avoid the notic...

I just checked out the reward tiers for this Indiegogo campaign in support of Book Moon and my JAW DROPPED. Jumping in on this with both feet! 🤩 And if you're a Kelly Link completionist like me, you can add on a rare 3-story collection that I've been looking for for years!

It's the 7-year anniversary of Book Moon this month! Last winter we were lucky enough to be able to buy the building, which is key to the survival of any independent bookstore. Now we're hoping to pay off some of our loan with an Indiegogo campaign offering 2 new T-shirts, a tea towel, & much more.

Reflecting today on how my core advice to other artists is always: read and engage and explore so, so widely outside the neighborhood of your specific practice/genre/personal community Breadth and depth of experience, feeling, life, and praxis... that's where the good shit is!!

All you Libby users borrowing digital books and audiobooks through your library cards, you can set your preferences to human authors and artists ONLY. Click the middle button at the bottom, then "Content Controls" under Settings. You'll find "AI Contributions" there. Click in to it to make changes.

Libby menu interface showing Content Controls: AI Contributions with the Hunan authors only and Human narrators only options selected.

making me nervous. 3 days left and last stretch. in an age of slop conmen and seedy rights grabbers, feels all the more important to focus on the reliable mags we can trust. if you enjoy their work and are able, this is a good time to chip in. the best time even, some might say.

Five days left on the Lightspeed & Nightmare kickstarter, and they still need $10k to meet their funding goal! Love short fiction? Go pick up a subscription and help spread the word! www.kickstarter.com/projects/lig...

Personal hobbyhorse, but thinking about AI in publishing is really making me want criticism to go harder on discussing the actual style & substance of books. If we just talk about plot & vibes, we're leaving the door totally open, & missing out on the good stuff besides. "It's just words on a page."

We are $600 away from halfway there. If you can share, thank you. I got moved to rehab four days ago, and I'm learning to walk again. 🖤

Friends, a little PSA. You see a glove lying around someplace like a shed or a garage? And you decide to put that glove on? Listen. Turn that thing inside-out first. Give it a good old shake. Don't be like me and just shove it right on. Otherwise...

My new novel is out a week from today — tough timing because of the election & uh, you know, the world. With book reviews an extinct species, it's hard to get the word out. So tell your friends! Meanwhile, I've started the next one, folkish horror set in a bog at a remote Maine hunting camp. Onward!

"What I most want you to know about Andrea Hairston’s The Redemption Center Is Closed on Sunday is that it is both wondrous and intimidating." @mollytempleton.com reviews a novel both dizzying and expansive–the kind of book that makes you want to see the world and live in it:
