People hear "hegemonic masculinity" and think body-building, expensive cars, cigars with the boys, and outbursts of violence. Usually, they also think Black people.

I worked on some research about online sexual violence. We were shocked by how many of the victims found the details of what they experienced on 8chan, in anonymous forums where men bragged and challenged each other to sexual assault.

Any government that takes the protection of democracy seriously should boycott this. But the German government helps normalise it.
