NYC DSA has a level of organizing and electoral work that is clearly leading to working class wins all over the ballot. This is the strength of coalition building an a leader like Mayor Mamdani who centers government in what it can deliver, while building relationships that lead to more wins.

I truly believe that Chicago is better off because Brandon won and Vallas lost but that’s a very low bar. Someone like Suzanna Mendoza is a real threat, but if Brandon wants our support he has to earn it and I’m not sure he wants it.
Brandon Johnson set up his own loss by abandoning his allies and then claiming we abandoned him. No amount of podcast interviews and Instagram Reels with progressive influencers is gonna change these facts.
Crime is down but cyclist and pedestrian fatalities are up. And yeah, a lot of City Council sucks, and we do need more progressive alders, but the Johnson administration has been at odds with all but the ones who blindly back him.
He’s completely frozen out the Progressive northside transit, cycling, and housing activist coalition that unified to elect him. Brandon has given the police everything they’ve asked with little scrutiny. He’s repeatedly put unqualified patronage appointees in department head roles.
I’m sorry but the attempt to spin this guy as Chicago’s Mamdani and blame city council is silliness. Brandon let Bring Chicago Home die on the vine by not campaigning for it. Brandon spent two years lobbying Springfield to give tax dollars to the Bears instead of literally anything progressive.
