I need a $25m mechanistic interpretability effort into why Claude sometimes hits me with the British spellings of words. Has semantic compaction made those vocab pairs near-indistinguishable? Are there Brit detector circuits? In which layer does Britishness reside?
I'm pretty sure Europeans are legally allowed to nuke us if we went through with this.

I struggle to articulate the severity of that second point - the kind of civic sacrilege it represents. The arch would be impious in the sot of way that calls for rituals of public humiliation like tarring and feathering.
