26 years later, Israelis still face horrific violence from Palestinian terrorists and a Palestinian leadership who glorifies such incidents and names public schools and streets after convicted murderers.

Soon after, the crowd dragged the two mutilated bodies to Al-Manara Square in the city center as the crowd began an impromptu victory celebration. Palestinian policemen did not prevent the lynching.

26 years ago, two IDF soldiers, Vadim Nurzhitz and Yossi Avrahami, mistakenly passed an Israeli checkpoint and entered Ramallah. They were detained by Palestinian police only to have the police station overrun by an angry mob of Palestinians.

Ukrainian officials have long believed that Trump’s foreign policy focuses on opening up business deals—and the potential enrichment of the president’s family and friends—over the defense of democracy, human rights, or territorial sovereignty.

"A U.S. president siding with the Kremlin is quite an October surprise. But in just the past few days, Trump appears to have fully turned against Ukraine." www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

🚨 Seven US senators from both parties say Trump broke the law by greenlighting Russian diesel imports, pointing to a 2022 ban meant to stop American $$ from bankrolling Russia's war & accusing regime of skipping Congress entirely. Russian blood diesel ship ETA in 3 hours at Wilmington, NC! 🧵

Ranking Member Shaheen and
Six Bipartisan Senators' Statement on Legality of Imports of Russian Diesel Fuel
WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Susan Collins (R-ME), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Thom Tillis (R-NC) and John Curtis (R-UT) issued a statement regarding the legality of Russian diesel fuel imports to the United States.
"Congress explicitly banned Russian energy imports in 2022 to prevent American dollars from financing Putin's brutal war against Ukraine. Congress was clear: the U.S. should not import oil from Russia until it ends its aggression against Ukraine and ceases threats against our NATO Allies.
"President Trump's decision to allow Russian diesel imports to the U.S. runs directly counter to that law. The Administration has also failed to consult with Congress or submit any explanation to justify its decision as required by statute.
"The United States should not provide Putin with a financial lifeline while Russia continues to kill Ukrainian civilians. The Administration must immediately reverse course."

1. I think the president of the United States really believes "there's never been anybody" who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than he does. He really believes he "settled eight wars." He really believes he stopped "the total obliteration of the world" by going to war with Iran.

The most extreme conservative project - Nazism - solved this by just killing people rather than trying to mold them. They didn't try to grow better people - they just killed the ones they thought were inferior. In either case, conservatives would argue, never give the State that much power. /5x

And that's *good*, because once you believe government can mold people, you become willing to *give the government power to mold people.* Conservatives inherently distrust the state (or did, once) for this very reason, among others. /4

You will not eradicate sexism or racism or whatever-ism by wise government policy. You can lead people away from it, or toward it, but you are dealing with some hard-wired human stuff about tribe and selfishness. Government exists to limit the damage, not mold us. /3

Think of it this way: the most extreme progressive project in history (the USSR) believed it could create a New Soviet Man, free of decadent beliefs (such as religion, envy, selfishness), with the State as his teacher and mentor - because human nature is just malleable clay. /1
