Military veteran and D.C. resident Anna King has filed a $3 million lawsuit against the Idaho National Guard, saying three guard members assaulted her while detaining her in front of her home. n.pr/4wyjw9S

Earlier this summer we drove ~6hrs or so out to Smith Rock in central Oregon and listened to a podcast called “smash boom best”. Which features debates on like, Mermaids v Bigfoot. Silly stuff. But they also have interstitials defining various logical fallacies. The kids ate that shit up.

My own kids, thankfully, are being taught how to structure stories at a young age. Tension, conflict, themes, inciting events, rising action and so forth. Good skills to learn, because you have to know the rules in order to move beyond them.

“The Court finds in favor of the defendant and further affirms that plaintiff is in fact a, I want to get this correct, ‘Fraggle Rock faced douche-canoe fucknoodle’ who ‘could not poor piss out a boot if the directions were on the heel’. So ordered.”

A federal judge has thrown out the FBI director’s lawsuit against a blogger who called him a “googly-eyed Kremlin bitch.” trib.al/oZwZMR9

This statement by Abdul el-Sayed is what’s at issue here. And it is an impolitic thing to say. It is also an entirely fair criticism of JD Vance, who, I believe, has done very very little to push back on elements of his own party that absolutely view his wife and children as less than.

Here's Abdul el-Sayed, the man who is likely to be the Democrats' nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, in a podcast interview in April:
"J.D. Vance has brown kids who he thinks are less American than everyone else. Like that's wild to look at your own kids and be like you don't actually belong as much in this country that I brought you into....
And honestly, like, JD Vance's kids? | love you. Like, Usha, like, get out.
Okay? Still got time."
After el-Sayed said that, the host, Brian Allen, turned to the camera and said, jokingly, "Vance if — I know you're going to see this. Do not sue me.
All right? I didn't know he was going to talk about you like this. I had no idea."

I think it’s a remarkably stupid thing for a political candidate to say. This is not the first time people have pointed out Vance’s hypocrisy on this issue, but to pull his children into it and say that you somehow know what’s in Vance’s mind about his own kids is over the line.
