This photograph was taken 100 years ago, in 1926. It shows members of the Treharris and District Central Relief Committee. The Committee worked to raised funds to provide food and other necessities to miners and their families during the long coal strike of that year.
In August 1953 Colwyn Bay celebrated the Coronation and also the Golden Jubilee of the Colwyn Bay Horticultural Society with a huge two-day show. It was supported by many organisations. Thousands attended and it didn’t rain! #colwynbay #northwales #wales #localhistory #gardening
