What if the only thing standing between you & public office was taking the first step? But everyone who is now in elected office started in exactly the same place: with the decision to act 💪 That's why Elect Her exists. To help that first step into a journey towards public office 💕

Almost one year ago the Scottish Government supported Green proposals to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel. The vote passed in Parliament, a historic moment. So why have Ministers not done a single thing to implement it? www.thenational.scot/news/2642085...

What is notable about pieces like this is they identify trans rights as a faultline, but I don't think I've ever seen a single Scottish political journalist ever acknowledge that for a centre-left party to take the grotesquely anti-trans position Scottish and UK Labour have is completely abnormal.

Not my game, not my ball etc but Monica Lennon is an ally to our trans community, understands the scale of the climate emergency and supports the basic principle of Scotland's right to self determination. Of course she's being attacked by the nastiest of yesterday's men.
We're hiring! Are you interested in joining my team as a Policy & Communications Officer (with a particular focus on public finance & tax reform)? 👇 ce1046li.webitrent.com/ce1046li_web...

Scotland stands with Palestine 🏴💚🇵🇸 Today I caught up with my friend Husam Zomlot, Palestinian ambassador to the UK. We discussed the need to uphold international law and take action against the UK companies, 'charities' & individuals complicit in Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine.
There can be no excuses for speaking at a fascist rally which brought racism, intimidation and even nazi salutes to our streets. We can not allow fascists any place in Scotland and they must be rejected by all parties.
Democracy is about respecting the right of people to choose their own future. Scotland deserves better than another Prime Minister who believes Westminster alone gets to decide when democracy is acceptable. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/opinion...
One day, everyone will have always been against this.
Today the Parliamentary scrutiny period for the draft Code of Practice ends. It still requires a commencement order to come into force. It does not happen automatically today. Labour could still, in theory, choose not to do this.

We need to take back Greater Manchester from big money - and give it back to the people. Reform have thrown in the towel. And Labour have let people down. Geraldine Coggins has a plan to make it happen. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

At the heart of the Reform project are allegations of big money buying influence. They wrap themselves in the flag while selling our future. We can be in no doubt about what they'd do in power. They would rip apart our communities and serve their crypto paymasters.
We have less than a week left to reject the Code of Practice on Services, Public Functions and Associations that is so harmful to our trans siblings. Together with my fellow Edinburgh & Lothians East MSPs, I have written to ask MPs in our region to support @nadiawhittomemp.bsky.social's EDM

I'm looking for a full time researcher. They'll need to be able to help with my Community Care portfolio as well as regional work. Scottish Greens have a four day week policy, so 30 hours is full time.
Today saw an important step towards a pause on the construction of hyperscale data centres in Scotland. At First Minister's Questions the First Minister agreed to consider Scottish Green calls for a pause, following significant concerns around their environmental impact.
Fantastic news! Our national team should be for all of us, not hidden behind a paywall. If we want children to be inspired by our athletes then they need to be able to see them in action.
I’m looking for a researcher to help me with my Community Care portfolio and with regional stuff too. Scottish Greens have a 30 hour week for our full time staff but if you need flexibility let me know 💚 Link in the bio or below to apply. Tell your friends. ce1046li.webitrent.com/ce1046li_web...

Really appreciated the chance to meet campaigners against the rash of data centres outside the parliament today. Join our e-action calling for a moratorium on these huge buildings: greens.scot/datacentres
Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.
Another busy week, celebrating Scotland Loves Local week in Moka Jak's in Beith, and Perk in Largs, and getting my hair done by Rebecca at Grace's Boutique Hair Spa in Largs. 🧵1/2 #scotlandloveslocal
Join our call for a pause on massive data centres: greens.scot/datacentres There are lots of plans for huge data centres, using massive amounts of electricity, and while they're supposed to be 'green', they don't have to do an environmental impact assessment. Let's stop and decide what we want.

We want free bus travel on better buses for all. Buses that are reliable, that keep going in the evening, that go to your town or village, buses that don't take forever, and you can use joined up ticketing.
In 2022 we delivered free bus travel for everyone under the age of 22. Today it was announced that over 300 million journeys have been taken under the scheme! Now it's time to go further. Making bus travel free for all would help us build a fairer, greener Scotland.
