former postdoc @Petridou Group/EMBL | now transitioning into research funding and science management | Collaborative research in Developmental Biology and Biophysics 🔬🐟

💫 Our paper is now published at @natcellbio.nature.com! So excited about this work done during my PhD at @embl.org in the group of @nicolettapetridou.bsky.social along with our great collaborators! 🐟🎉

Glad to see this out in its final form! www.nature.com/articles/s41... What changed since the preprint? Wonderful experiments disentangling the effect of receptor binding vs tissue porosity on Nodal diffusion, plus one of the smoothest review experiences! Thanks @natcellbio.nature.com & reviewers 🙏

Thank you for the chance to present my PhD work! 🔬 It was great to get feedback now that we are finalising our manuscript!

✨ At this week's DB seminar, Magdalena Schindler @lena-schindler.bsky.social, a postdoc in the Petridou group @nicolettapetridou.bsky.social @embl.org, presented her work on how cell cycle synchrony affects tissue-level mechanical transitions at the onset of morphogenesis in zebrafish embryos 🐟 🔬

Happy to share an interview I got to do with Katja Bühler, the Head of the Biomedical Image Informatics Group at VRVis in Vienna. I got to learn how she supports user projects as member of Austrian BioImaging/CMI Node! Enjoy the interview 💪🖥️🔬

Meet our Nodes! Katja Buhler, @vrvis.bsky.social, part of Austrian BioImaging/CMI Node, explains the #imagedata analysis services her team can provide to support #EuroBioImaging users in this short video. Enjoy! 📺 youtu.be/I_PkU3eKC0U

Last month I successfully defended my PhD thesis on the role of cell division synchrony during early embryo development! I am lucky to have spent these past years working with an amazing team at @embldbunit.bsky.social. Thank you @nicolettapetridou.bsky.social for making it possible!

🎉 Congratulations to Magdalena Schindler, from the Petridou group @nicolettapetridou.bsky.social @embl.org, who has just defended her PhD thesis titled 'An optimum cell cycle heterogeneity times tissue fluidisation at the onset of zebrafish morphogenesis' #PhDDefense #Zebrafish #DevelopmentalBiology

A big thank you to @lendertgelens.bsky.social, @kamenzlab.bsky.social and @biologists.bsky.social for a great workshop! I enjoyed meeting the authors of papers I have read throughout my work on embryonic cleavages. Lots of engaging discussions and exciting science bridging biology 🧑‍🔬🔬 and theory 🖥️🧮.

Had a great time this week with a wonderful group of researchers at our workshop on the physics of early embryonic cell divisions! Big thanks to everyone there, i.e. Johanna, Frank, Laura and Adam from @biologists.bsky.social, and to my co-organizer @kamenzlab.bsky.social! Let’s do this again!
