Upon my arrival in USA, I was living in Houston & didn’t have much to do. One of my favourite activities was to visit the MURDER BY THE BOOK store (@murderbooks.bsky.social) as they hosted a lot of author events (thriller, mystery & SFF). It was heaven for me & I can’t recommend it enough.

When you preorder from an indie store, so many good things happen. Bookselling stuff, of course. But also choirs singing your praises. And probably tacos. They happen all the time

If I get 3-4 separate preorders for the same book, I'm going to then promote it much more, & more likely to read it & have it become a staff rec.
