To the extent that the media is treating this as a horse story: Max Miller is not a some random candidate from Ohio. This is a picture of President Trump speaking at the wedding of Max Miller and Emily Moreno.

Too many have been unable to understand that the klan was also “Christian nationalist”. They weren’t just dumb rednecks in rural areas. They were doctors, lawyers, “upstanding business men”. They dressed in robes in private. In public, they wore nice suits and called themselves “public servants”. 🧵

Three years ago, our reporter received an envelope with no return address. Inside was a flash drive containing tens of thousands of files: years of secretly recorded conversations, private militia chat logs and videos sent by a man named John Williams. (Published Jan. 2025)

This is because domestic violence is a plank in the far-right platform—not a coincidence, not a correlation, but the result of a concerted effort to live and govern such that it is easier for men to beat their wives and children, a goal the far right believes in and strives for

Despite all the accusations of crimes and cover-ups, the Trump admin has never actually prosecuted or jailed anyone. The supposed stolen 2020 election, Jan 6 deep state, Dr Fauci, etc. All of its is just theater for the base, revving them up. In the end, will undermine faith in gov and institutions.

at the end of disability pride month, i remixed a pals vid into this piece, an attempt to distill surreal pandemic years—buoyed by the tireless work of fellow queer &disabled folks—into something you, if i’m lucky, can feel. felt like time to post it to bsky, bc we’ve been, are still, here, despite.

Gotta start taxonomically classifying people as exhibiting "Twitter user behavior." Developed "concerns" about Fauci in 2026. Love a good prof slam: “It’s bewildering. It seemed weird and laughable,” Davis said of the indictment. “It felt like the length of the indictment was a cover for how thin it actually was. I’m a professor. I’ve seen people pad out papers when they’ve got nothing to say.”

We've made the world so bad that we've essentially taught a couple generations in a row now to dissociate 24/7, to avoid having to think or feel the constant overwhelming stress of their lives. The consequences of this are already profound, they will continue to grow more severe.

Emilie Owens calls brainrot content "a decompression-driven genre of participation." They use the infinite scroll to put off having to deal with stress, like a kind of compensatory behavior. I kinda get it: the world sucks right now. I can't imagine being 15! journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

I believe there is no greater generational constant in USA than the high profile snake oil salesman. I bet historians can document trajectory changes in USA purely based on phenomena & gold rushes engineered by snake oil salesmen. ‘I invented a genie’ guy may be their crowning achievement though.

“What we need to explain to the world: Number one, we are close to creating a genie that can grant any wish. Number two, we are going to make sure that our first wishes broadly benefit humanity” - Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI — This is definitely the opposite of Anthropic’s AI kills all jobs pitch.

The only responsible attitude for liberals and progressives to align on is that all right-wing grievances, claims and believes are not only false, but malicious lies. Nothing passes the mouth of an American conservative in public life that is not meant to harm and destroy the lives of millions.
