Yeah take your point, and a good note to self to read papers that confirm biases as those which conflict! Also as you say definitely the case that there is plenty of evidence in favour. I looked up some after a very good @drhskelton.bsky.social talk on it at @researchedmk.bsky.social
A huge thank you to all those who supported and attended researchED Milton Keynes last week. A wonderful day was had by all, and the feedback, especially about the food, has been incredible! The team behind the event is having a well-deserved rest and will be back soon!
If there was a talk I could have spent more time in while buzzing around @researchedmk.bsky.social, it is this talk by @michaelfordham.bsky.social While I was in there the views shared seemed well considered and eloquently shared. Definitely more debate needed in this area. Thank you Michael!

I do enjoy a provocative talk and @michaelfordham.bsky.social's somewhat nihilistic take at @researchedmk.bsky.social on the National Curriculum has been no disappointment. Right on the money with the Curriculum and Assessment Review going on.
Loved the healthy dose of irreverence and reassurance with regard to evidence-informed practice from @mikehobbiss.bsky.social and Paul Cline (is he on here?) at @researchedmk.bsky.social. Particularly enjoyed the point that lethal mutations are not, in fact, lethal.
Had a fantastic day representing AQA at @researchedmk.bsky.social. Now the long journey home begins, and I’m hoping the trains all run to time! Thanks in particular to @nimishlad.bsky.social , Pav, Craig and Samantha, and all other colleagues who have contributed to such a great day.
An excellent day at @researchedmk.bsky.social with lots to come away and think about. Thanks v much to the organisers and speakers whose sessions I attended. Wish I could have attended more. Also great to meet some online associates in the flesh, some for the first time.
