It's October 1st, Covid is already circulating in the schools and Nova Scotia Health still hasn't announced a start date for fall vaccines. We need earlier and more frequent access to vaccination.

An August 2026 FAQ document from Nova Scotia Public Health is a bit disingenuous. Provinces can purchase Nuvaxovid (formerly Novavax), and some provinces have already committed to making it available. You can contact the NS Health Minister using this template: stillcoviding.ca/en/take-acti...

A screenshot from a Nova Scotia Health document reads: "Is the Novavax Covid-19 vaccine available? The Novavax Covid-19 vaccine was not distributed within Canada to be used by the provinces and territories this season. Any further questions should be directed to the federal government."

Some good news: the Nuvaxovid vaccine is expected to be available in BC, AB, SK, MB and ON. Other provinces and territories are looking into purchasing vaccine doses: YT, NB and PEI. 📣 Take action : stillcoviding.ca/en/take-acti... #COVID #Novavax #NuvaxovidNow

VERY important paper! This study detected SARS-CoV-2 in the air of common areas of 4 big US airports. SARS-CoV-2 detected in 98% of samples through the year. Influenza A was found during flu season. That’s why you want to wear an N95 respirator in an airport! And all indoor public spaces all year!

it's a beautiful day to pick up some free n95 or kn95/94 masks from the covid care coalition at the Halifax Anarchist Bookfair outside the old Halifax Memorial Library on Spring Garden Rd!

Yes. In Nova Scotia, Public Health is very quiet on Covid prevention - including Health Canada's recommendation to improve ventilation. It seems worth noting as children prepare for yet another school year with no plan in place to monitor their indoor air quality and make improvements as necessary

As a Canadian, although our government still recommends precautions, they don’t do it out loud. You have to search for it. There are no national (or provincial) strategies here. Not even in healthcare.
