It never stops being funny that the Politics section of the newspaper is like “Candidates debate plans to achieve universally shared goal of lowering housing costs” while every day the Business page is like “In the worst possible news we could imagine, housing costs declined slightly”

I mean look, it's entirely up to the Broncos to convince the city that they'll follow through on it, but this would be a top-5 land-use outcome for a major pro sports stadium built this century.
Sorry if this is obvious, but it's important to understand: When powerful people show up on a newspaper op-ed page like this, it's not to reach an audience. It's not 1985; they have much more direct and effective ways of doing that. What they are after is borrowed legitimacy.
Not a big fan of the "sick, elderly and/or disabled people don't count" discourse that appears to follow public health disasters these days.

If Dems fall short in CD3 by a point or two it could be one of the party's biggest own goals this cycle. There's a persuasive-enough argument that the demographic/partisan shifts in CD5 make it modestly more likely to flip, but the mismatch in money/attention has been massive for two R+5 seats.

Genuinely crazy to see oil and gas groups talking about "reinforcing confidence" in the 2,000-foot setback when the very same groups spent 10-15 years and tens of millions of dollars arguing that any setback beyond 500 feet would be unsupported by science and an illegal taking.

Obviously neither of these things is guaranteed, but if Dems continue to shift left while sweeping back to power in 2026 and 2028, the reelection of John Hickenlooper to a six-year term from a D+15 state could potentially loom very large in 2029 and beyond.

key difference is that no one claimed that someone with xy chromosomes can get pregnant. the question arises out of conservatives pretending to be stupid (or sometimes just being stupid). whereas the election question is a straightforward question they won't answer because of trump cultism.
