It is so nice to see people give talks about unfinished work and give a list of interesting open problems at the end of their talks. It gives me hope that as a community we will manage to settle on a good new equilibrium in this AI era.

A question for quantum info community and QIP program committee: how would you review AI-generated solutions to important problems in our field? There are already examples of very strong results which several teams claimed simultaneously. 1/n

Sadly, unless you pay $200 per month (230 EUR if you’re European 🙂), you’re no longer as competitive in quantum info theory (as I guess in any applied-math topic).

I gave a lecture on quantum hype and quantum bullshit for our master's students this week. Afterwards they looked at Microsoft's Majorana 2 announcement and analyzed it from different sides: original press release, publication, media coverage and expert response, and then made their own conclusions.

I signed this today. I'm sceptical of the blind trust of people in LLMs, and I don't think LLMs will replace me as a researcher, teacher, and mentor. At the same time, I want to be open to new technologies and see whether and how we can use them fruitfully in our research and teaching.

Since September I've been working with an international group to develop what we hope can be a response from the mathematics community to artificial intelligence in maths. The Leiden Declaration is now posted and open for signatures: https://leidendeclaration.ai/ #LeidenDeclaration

I've been running a Lean seminar at CWI/UvA for some time. We now started formalizing Appleby's result on the structure of the single-qudit Clifford group. Here's the blueprint and GitHub repository in case you're interested. marozols.github.io/clifford-pro... github.com/marozols/cli...
