I am trying to find any news outlet covering an obvious nazi salute as what it was. NBC news has this as their entire coverage: "Musk then forcefully touched his heart, before raising his hand and saluting supporters." WHAT KIND OF SALUTE MOTHERFUCKERS

MAGA and Corporate Media: That wasn't a Nazi salute that was just a Roman salute. Also, that isn't goose-stepping, that's just a dance move. Oh, and that's not a swastika but just an old Indian symbol for good luck.

We're going to normalize Nazi rhetoric, symbols, slogans, conspiracies and eugenics within 2 weeks. I predicted this would happen by 2024 a few years ago, and I take no joy in being right about it. Corporate media will sanewash it. You think I'm being hyperbolic but you're not paying attention.

The Mr. Rogers advice for moments of crisis is a useful thing to remember right now. Look for the helpers. Look for the people organizing to protect the most vulnerable. Look for the people who have been concretely planning for how to respond, and are ready to implement. Join them, if you can.

I came into consciousness in the late seventies by which point all media was insisting the the Civil rights movement, barely 10 years old was ancient history. By the time I was 10 they were teaching Civil Rights Movements as if they were as far back then as they are now.

as people run to post falsely colorized photos of dr. king today…. please remember that black and white photography from the 1960s has no relationship to our current perception of time. no one is trying to trick you with civil rights era photos, your relationship to time was not a consideration.

It makes me wonder what these guys think is in DEI programs. Our training is mostly on recognizing unconscious bias & learning basic employment law. There’s nothing that says “don’t hire white men.” It helps improve our teams & our responses to customers. DEI makes us more competitive.

Hard to tell at this remove how many CEOs/companies are slashing DEI initiatives to look better to the incoming administration and its supporters, or because they never wanted them in the first place and took the first chance they could to kick them to the curb. I suspect a great deal of overlap.

Imma need the News to stop talking about companies "Moving away from DEI" and start writing about how "White men aren't actually competitive in an open labor field and need exclusionary policies to keep pace."
