totally sucks to log back on after driving across the country to see so much hate levied at the action of masking specifically, not to mention the people who are desperate for the very few places (it’s literally named last ditch people) still safe if not encouraging toward those who wear them.

Hey so uhhhhh that Boston Globe story about the lesbian bar relaxing its covid rules is an *absolute fucking hit piece* targeting the disabled, chronically ill, and covid-conscious and it would be great if folks sharing and joking about it could recognize that framing.

I know you’re now rolling your eyes and going “ughhh Bluesky scolllld” and I’m going to tell you right this very second you have absolutely no idea, not one fucking clue, the trauma there is from the social isolation that immunocompromised people have faced since Covid started.

It’s so cute to see everyone having fun with this,you might enjoy the other story about Covid this morning, about a young mom with long covid who killed herself, possibly partially because her husband describes it as her being “obsessed” with her health and “refusing” to get out of bed. Funny, yeah?

I havent ever liked the droves of posts saying 'readers dont owe artists comments'. In a freeform state, interaction is what keeps enjoyment alive. Fan creations are not meant to be consumed and brushed by, which no-interaction situations often are doing.
