so I'm happy he managed to have a fine career in exactly the kind of roles where you'd cast someone as unique as Bud Cort.
Cort always had a special childlike quality that came across in many of his roles. Though he was nothing like my real dad, I always imagined that if they ever made a movie about my life, he'd get that role (with Kim Darby as my mom). I feel like he was too idiosyncratic to ever hold onto stardom--
