In fairness, as @alexwilliamsyyc.bsky.social points out in the video, that may be due to lack of frequency for that bus taking you the last mile. They could also build safe and secure bicycle options or even bike share as well as increase bus frequency to address that. 🤷♂️

New one is "sad, boring and corporate"—and doesn't make people want to take transit. Hear, hear! #yyccc
Most of Calgary in full denial of this, including those who make decisions about how are city grows, EVEN THOUGH we have decades of policy direction that sprawl keeps our taxes high, strains our infrastructure, compromises public health and so on and so forth
Navneet Alang@navneetalang.com · 6mo agoAnother weekend in the suburbs and once again, contra every urbanist, it feels incredibly obvious that the vast majority of people in this country don’t consider the car-dependent suburb as a “problem to be solved” at all. It is simply the way things should be.
This is how housing becomes unaffordable. Suburbia wants car dependency mentality applied to inner city development. Each unit will become $75,000 more expensive for stalls that will be empty b/c ownership is low. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Anecdotally, I don’t think we would have been able to have a baby if we lived in Toronto or Vancouver.

I hate working the weekends for the simple fact that we’re the forgotten ones. Transit is slow and unreliable. Local news, information and updates are tailored for people getting up later if at all. Yet we need to be where we’re supposed to in order to support everyone and everything around us.

The post I was quoting got removed, but this is the article saying "Alberta renters don’t need more ‘supply’ — they need non-market housing options”. There’s *no* reason that advocacy for non-market housing should downplay or be put in opposition to the importance of overall supply.
