This is why I've lost patience with right type of supply arguments. Yes, we need family sized units. Yes, we need affordable housing. Yes, we need missing middle. Yes, we need ground-oriented. Yes, we need TOD. YES to all of it (or at *least* most of it). Tinkering won't solve shortages!

This was the easiest part of the Vancouver Plan to implement; Ken Sim directed staff to prioritize it. If we can't pass this, what's the point of any of it? All housing policy work here is in limbo.
Edmonton continues to show it's possible to have newly built, ground-oriented housing for families in existing neighbourhoods at a reasonable price. You only have to make it legal and feasible. Here's a 3bed for $1,895 with a $500 lease signing bonus.
Honestly I don’t think you need any justification for keeping an e-cargobike even if your kids don’t want to ride it any longer. My UA is my primary vehicle and I use it for everything under the sun. They are good for much more than carrying kids around.

Test rode a LvH Bullitt from @bikebikeyyc.bsky.social a couple of weeks ago and while we don’t really need a 2nd bucket cargo bike, it occurred to me that it would be a great vehicle for my kid when he’a a teenager. Much cheaper than buying him a car.

This Orwellian “snitch line” about evidence-based protected bike-lanes to push out negative framing while inducing complaints is next level. They would rather more people die, traffic get worse, and cities get weaker.

This was “the Playbook” to a tee, weaponizing the words “blanket zoning.” Embarrassing for Calgary Council. The Mayor then adds insult to staff & years of good faith work by claiming it “broke the public’s trust.” Awful.
There is no compelling urban planning reason to concentrate apartment buildings on loud, polluted, dangerous main streets. This is solely a political strategy by planners trying to avoid NIMBY backlash to proposed apartments. This political strategy DOES NOT WORK. Homeowners oppose housing anyway!
