Forget your dainty fantasies and learn to move like the eyeless beast you must become. Like many dorks, I play D&D on YouTube and Twitch. Previously @Megalodork on twitter

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

I don't know how to say this in a way that isn't snotty: if you are changing your writing intentionally to sound "not like AI" or whatever, I think extremely little of your craft. This is simply not a problem or a consideration for an even moderately developed writer www.wired.com/story/more-t...

More Typos, Fewer Em Dashes: Writers Are Creating an Anti-AI ‘Literary Counterculture’

Novelists, journalists, and power LinkedIn posters are embracing first-person narratives and idiosyncrasies to avoid being mistaken for chat bots.

Like, I cannot stress this enough: in the Iliad, Achilles fights Scamander, the river god who is also the *river Scamander.* There is no historically accurate way of depicting a bronze age warrior fighting a RIVER which is also a god. "What were Bronze Age anti-river tactics?" Shush.

This is a politician who understands that this is not an indulgence, it's an investment. Every public space where you can have fun and not spend any money is probably more of a crimebuster than 100 cops.

This summer, we kept the lights on all night, every night, at five soccer fields across New York City.

This was the scene at Calvert Vaux Park in Gravesend, Brooklyn Tuesday night.

Would love to see anyone walk people through the fact that there are finite resources, which means that when someone is a trillionaire they are hogging a large percentage of those resources so the things they have are things that you don’t have so when you struggle to pay bills that’s their fault

One thing I like is when a short horror story makes you feel intense fear about a thing you're not normally afraid of. "The Viaduct" by Brian Lumley, from his Fruiting Bodies collection, does that with the fear of heights. 💙📚🩸

What? Absolutely not. These are the actions of a wildly unpopular administration that should be mocked, not feared. Don’t give these yutzes more than they deserve by making them powerful or scary in your head.

The Reflecting Pool arrests by Park Police should terrify everyone. The federal government is fabricating accusations out f thin air simply tO protect one man from his own embarrassing failure. There is no sabotage. This is insane.

Reading the memoir "How to Murder Your Life" by Cat Marnell and at one point on a plane she says she's watching The Dark Knight Rises but then she refers to the movie showing Heath Ledger in the nurse uniform. If she could make a factual blunder like that how I can believe any of the rest of it?!

*Extremely minor and specific complaint* If I subscribed to your original horror story podcast because you had a bunch of good creepy episodes in a contemporary setting written in modern English, please think long and hard before you do a story set in the 1600s or whatever.

I was in South Korea in 2014 for a Samsung event and they put all the North American journalists together on one tour bus. Our guide and translator played the Gangnam Style music video on the bus TVs five times in a row, then switched it to a Gangnam Style remix video. Insanely funny bit.

Love it when they play Gangnam Style in the Asian grocery store. Basically telling the white shopper “this is what we think of you”

if you ever start a sentence with "There are plenty of real things to criticize _____ over without..." you are a loser. you are stupid. you are not doing anything worth a fuck. you need your ass kicked

i think the reason people say "dont let the perfect be the enemy of the good" is because they know on a neutral field, the perfect would beat the fucking hell out of the good. the good sucks shit compared to the perfect. thats why im always going for it. the good is my enemy, too. fuck the good!

"What if somebody said "It's the Super Bowl." And then I'm like, "You probably couldn't even get a ticket to the Salad Bowl." 🥗 That's funny." THIRD GUY: Well, you're certainly dressed for it. That's funny too. (I start sucking the third guy's dick.) That's funny. - JF #TheJokingGamer #ad
