If I may get on my soap box: No Kings is a tactic. It is not the strategy and no one involved in putting it on considers it sufficient on its own. It's a mass show of defiance that's also served as an onramp to the kind of local organizing work that's necessary to shift power
Amanda Becker@amandabecker.bsky.social · 2d agoI see on-the-ground evidence *on a daily basis* of how people's involvement in No Kings, Indivisible, 50501 has grown into ICE monitoring, flock camera protests, city council blowups over data centers and running for office. THAT was the point of No Kings, all along, from my perspective.
thinking about this again. i'm basically always thinking about this.
Its been a rough year hitting my limit after 17 years of transition, failing every step of it in every conceivable way while working my ass off. Art has been helpful to just explore getting emotions out instead of festering.

If you tell a medical specialist you want to get things back to normal and they're like "define normal", strictly speaking that's just good medical ethics, as making sure your treatment goals are aligned is essential to a fruitful doctor/patient relationship, but darned if it doesn't SOUND ominous.
