I think what I find really depressing about AI in higher education is how so many people didn't even wait for the evidence/research before we decided on telling students "how to use AI responsibly" which often includes things like checking grammar, and obviously, we shouldn't have been

Recently, FamilySearch digitized and uploaded tons of microfilmed records, including many from 18th-century Massachsuetts. They're using some sort of AI to transcribe/summarize the handwritten documents. I've noticed that the AI strips out references to race and enslavement in 18thc documents.

Had a really interesting conversation with other folks who teach our writing requirement at UB and all of us noted this shift in how students are talking about AI. Not to say we don’t see them still sometimes using it, but something really interesting is afoot. This video is cool validation!

She says AI is the next “industrial revolution” and all the students BOO loudly. And then when she says “a few years ago, AI was not part of our lives” they all CHEER. She is shocked by their reactions. I am not!!!

So wie in Amerika, wo Schusswaffen zum Alltag gehören - und selbst Kinder in der Schule lernen, was bei einem Amoklauf zu tun ist…! Dann doch lieber Gitarren statt Knarren, unsere Devise.
„WIR MACHEN DIE GRENZEN DICHT“ heißt übersetzt: mehr Aufwand, mehr Kosten, massive Kontrollen, Wartezeiten, Lkw-Schlangen. Und das betrifft nicht nur die Geflüchteten, sondern auch den Lkw-Fahrer, den Pendler, den Handwerker. Die Familie, die mal eben nach Polen fährt. Den Betrieb, der seine Ware über die Grenze bekommt. Totales Chaos und wirtschaftlicher Overkill.
Wut ist noch kein Wahlprogramm! Und ein Protestkreuz kein Feuerlöscher. Also wenn dir jemand erzählt:
„Mit der AfD wird alles besser“, frag ihn besser mal:
„Für wen??“Wer Deutschland WIRKLICH liebt,
wählt schwarz rot gold, gelb oder grün oder lila,
aber definitiv NICHT blau.«
