I think that the only conclusion one can really draw is that there is a clique of tiktok 20somethings that adopted furry culture as an aesthetic to appropriate when they were stuck online in the pandemic, but don't actually have any roots or any interest in the actual fandom and its spaces at large.

I want more young people to realize how hollow of an existence it is to strive to be liked online as a “content creator” or as an “influencer”. Doing things as a passion and sharing it, awesome. Doing things for views and likes… you will wake up one day to realize that you’re actually very alone.
