Seeing a lot of discourse about the movie where people only get to have sex one night out of the year and what you have to understand is that for some of us that’s pretty good

The SCREEN Act just failed to pass in the Senate Commerce Committee! 🎉 Enormous thanks to the thousands (!!) of you who told your Senators to vote no! Your voice matters and you should feel good that you made a difference. Obviously, the fight isn't over, but this was an important victory.

lol at Coles suddenly sending a letter to Getup demanding they take down digital ads about Coles surveillance data partnership with Palantir because it featured footage of a Coles staff member and “breached their privacy”

Because it apparently needs to be said: I have never fucking used the AI/LLM/chatbot/plagiarism machine and I never fucking will. If you use it, I think you're a bad person.

I've never made anything for money, and the jobs I've had over the years were all voluntary, for the love of it. It hasn't done anything for my bank account, but I hope I've helped in some way to make life a bit better.

I have seen a thing where a person dresses in fur suit and streams music on youtube from a cool looking DJ deck. I could do that, but money prevents it. Also, why does youtube slam 10+ seconds of a song, yet a DJ can play an hour of music, and that's ok?

Something I've wondered. When a singer sings on someone else's record, maybe as a duet or backing vocalist. You might read "Paul McCartney appears courtesy of Parlophone records." I assume it's less courtesy and more kickback?
