I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

This is quite literally what happened to one of my grandparents in 1933. You know, in case we still have folks in the “it’s not fascism if it doesn’t meet these very specific, arbitrary characteristics based on my own refusal to accept responsibility to oppose it” crowd.

You can’t get more Gestapo than this…. “a criminal probe into her immigration paperwork, which her late father filled out after the family emigrated to the U.S. from Somalia when she was a child”

just had one of the most unhinged conversations i’ve had in a while with someone & basically i just try to be kind. i feel like a lot of folks absolutely lost the plot of incarnation & basically i am making my way through my irl existence by defaulting to “kind” when something else isn’t called for?

Scholastic sent me a whole box of paperback copies of Sorcerer’s Stone that I sure didn't order. When I asked why, my rep told me they're sending complimentary giveaway copies to random schools that do Book Fair.

Years ago I was preparing an epistemology of gender in psychiatry lecture and included a "third gender" table I've since deleted. An ex lent me a very popular book on the anthropology of gender to prep, and I made it 5 pages in before realizing the author was using "trans women" to refer to men.

The thing that frustrates me most about this "third gender" stuff is that it's living proof of how transmisogyny is deeply baked into patriarchal cultures, and how the societal refusal to recognize trans womanhood is millennia old, but it's been turned into Noble Gender Savage fanfic by dipshits.

“The bartender came out from behind the bar to tape up a handwritten sign right in front of me that said, ‘Ladies Only,’” Marina Hanley, the lead singer of Rougaroux, said in a video. “…‘We’re very strict about this. This isn’t an all-gender situation. This washroom is for ladies only.’”

“I don't ever want to feel this shame that I have felt about who I am and about the journey that I have been on.”

"Medicaid work requirements" are above water with the American electorate (net +18). Calling the same policy "Medicaid eligibility cuts" meaningfully decreases support (net -11). I do not understand the insistence on adopting the framing of those trying to destroy Medicaid

Nothing more depressing than finding out there are still people at this point in a state of emergency so desperate for clout and subscriptions they'd peddle click-fodder to the very people who have made a whole career out of hating us.

if your articles are being shared positively by Jesse Singal, you're probably not actually doing the work in support of trans people as much as you think you are! (this is about the new The Needle hit piece about Erin Reed)
